Arla launches organic milk in the Middle East
Arla Foods, the world’s largest organic dairy producer, now expand their selection in the Middle East with organic milk.
The Middle East is Arla’s biggest strategic growth market outside of Europe and the launch of organic milk is part of the co-operative society’s strategy to be the largest organic dairy producer in the Middle East and Northern Africa in 2020. At the same time Arla is planning to expand to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in 2018.
“We see a growing demand with the consumers for organic products in the Middle East, and therefore we are launching the first of many dairy products in the region. As the world’s leading producer of organic dairy products we look forward to introducing more consumers in the Middle East to Arla Organic milk along with other of our dairy products”, says region manager for the Middle East and Northern Africa Rasmus Malmbak Kjeldsen.
The UAE is both international and multicultural and often “first movers” within consumer trends
It was here that Arla first experienced an increase in demand for more organic products in the Middle East.
“In the UAE we have observed a general increase of interest in organic products, especially fruits and vegetables. Now we are also seeing the first organic shops, cafes and restaurants. We are launching Arla Organic milk in the UAE first, as the consumers are demanding it and also to gain more experience and knowledge about the consumer’s organic buying habits”, says Rasmus Malmbak Kjelsen
The launch of Arla Organic milk in the UAE took place with an interactive ‘pop-up’ farm in Dubai from September 24.-27.
The event took place at the same time as World School Milk Day and Arla invited both students, politicians and the press for a unique possibility to learn more about organic farming. Two organic farmers from Denmark where present in Dubai to share their knowledge with consumers.
