Denmark and China to exchange insights on sustainable food systems during ministerial visit to Beijing

Denmark is set to strengthen its collaborative ties with China through an official agriculture and food delegation, led by the Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Mr. Jacob Jensen, on 21-22 April 2025. This visit marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, underscoring a shared commitment to sustainable development in the food sector.

The ministerial delegation reflects Denmark’s ambition to further strengthen its long-standing partnership with China in the fields of sustainable food, agriculture, and fisheries. With a shared focus on green transition, innovation, and food security, the visit highlights opportunities for knowledge exchange and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The visit centres on key themes such as sustainable livestock production, innovative food ingredients, and responsible fisheries management—areas where Denmark offers strong competencies and where collaboration can drive joint progress. By aligning efforts and exploring scalable solutions, Denmark and China aim to support the development of more resilient and sustainable food systems.

With participation from leading Danish companies, the program explores scalable solutions in sustainable livestock, innovative ingredients, and responsible fisheries management — areas where Denmark offers strong competencies.

While participation requires physical presence in China, the themes and insights from this visit are relevant for food system stakeholders worldwide.
