H.M. King Frederik X opens Food Nation’s new Visitor Centre
On 15 December 2025, Food Nation marked the official opening of the food cluster’s Visitor Centre in Copenhagen in new physical surroundings. The updated and expanded Visitor Centre presents the very best of Danish agri-food solutions, sustainable innovation and global collaboration. H.M. King Frederik attended the opening, along with the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jacob Jensen, and representatives from across the entire food cluster.
A strengthened showcase for a world-class food nation
The new Visitor Centre builds on the centre’s core purpose: to inspire, inform and impress international decision-makers and partners through an experiential and knowledge-based centre that brings together and communicates Denmark’s strong positions within agriculture and food. As the food cluster’s window to the world, the centre offers visiting delegations insight into how Denmark develops the food solutions of the future, while providing a platform where companies and international stakeholders can meet and establish new collaborations and partnerships. Each year, the centre welcomes around 1,500 visitors from more than 30 markets.
With the relocation to Industriens Hus, Food Nation’s Visitor Centre has been significantly enhanced and expanded in both content and expression. Visitors are welcomed into an ambitious narrative universe featuring digital and interactive installations and exhibition elements, now also incorporating AI technology. The development has been realised with support from the Danish Industry Foundation (Industriens Fond), which has made the creative and technological renewal of the centre’s communication possible.
A collective boost for the food cluster
The Danish food cluster accounts for approximately 23% of Denmark’s total goods exports and represents the entire value chain – from agriculture and food production to technology, ingredients, research and gastronomy. With a proven strong position in food safety and quality, efficiency and innovation, Denmark is an attractive global partner.
Chair of Food Nation, Jais Valeur, highlights: “Denmark is a small country, but a strong food nation that can create real value globally. With the opening of the new Visitor Centre, we gain an important platform from which to showcase our capabilities and solutions to international partners.”
The Visitor Centre is intended to support the international profiling of the food cluster and serve as a concrete platform for development and dialogue for companies, delegations and organisations seeking knowledge about Danish food products and solutions. With the official opening, Food Nation is also intensifying its ongoing communication with Danish companies, which can use the centre as a setting for meetings with international partners; with international embassies in Denmark that require a professional starting point for delegations; and with Denmark’s representations abroad, which can use the updated Visitor Centre as a single point of entry to the Danish agriculture and food sector.

At the opening, guests were guided through the centre’s interactive elements, which together illustrate the historical development of the food cluster, future technologies and concrete examples of innovation. The centre is a key tool in efforts to strengthen Denmark’s global position as a food nation.
“Food Nation’s Visitor Centre is Denmark’s shared showcase for the entire food cluster. With the new setting and strong content, we can offer both Danish and international visitors a solid and up-to-date experience of how, as a nation, we work innovatively, efficiently and sustainably to address global food challenges,” says Lise Walbom, CEO of Food Nation.
The opening reception brought together guests from across the food sector – from ministries and companies to organisations and international partners. The programme included:
