London Climate Action Week 2026
A Danish delegation will participate in London Climate Action Week 2026 to engage with a wide range of climate actors and highlight Denmark’s contributions to climate action and sustainable agri-food systems.
London Climate Action Week is an annual city-wide climate festival that harnesses the unique power of London as a global hub for climate action. The week brings together policymakers, business leaders, researchers, civil society and communities to accelerate climate solutions and strengthen collaboration across sectors. Founded in 2019, it has grown into one of Europe’s largest climate-focused gatherings, featuring hundreds of events and attracting thousands of participants.
Taking place 20–28 June 2026, London Climate Action Week will create multiple opportunities to share insights, build partnerships and explore scalable solutions that support the green transition across sectors, including sustainable food and agriculture.
Agri-food in focus
Food systems play a central role in climate resilience and mitigation, and Danish stakeholders are expected to engage in dialogues and activities that highlight innovative approaches and collaborative solutions from the Danish food cluster.
Danish Delegation
A Danish delegation will participate in London Climate Action Week 2026 to engage with international climate actors and highlight Danish contributions to climate action, green transition and sustainable agri-food systems.
The following events are in focus:
Future of Food Coalition Roundtable
Date: 23 June 2026
Time: 11:30–12:30 BST
Format: Invitation-only roundtable
Organised by World Climate Foundation and cohosted by Food Nation, UN Foundation. This high-level roundtable will mark a renewed momentum for the Future of Food Coalition for the year ahead.
The session will convene senior leaders from finance, policy, industry and philanthropy to address how system-wide ambition can be translated into measurable and investment-ready action. The discussion will explore how to accelerate protein diversification, strengthen Scope 3 emissions measurement and procurement frameworks, and better align policy, finance and corporate action.
The roundtable will also spotlight Denmark’s FAO Roadmap alignment and partnership-based approach as an example of national-level leadership and cross-sector implementation. The session is designed to move beyond dialogue and identify practical pathways for collaboration, investment mobilisation and policy integration ahead of COP31 and beyond.
Feed Life – Reconnecting with Food Systems
Date: 24 June 2026
Time: 08:30–11:00
Format: Closed-door roundtable
The Royal Danish Embassy in London, Arla Foods and Arla Foundation will host a closed-door roundtable exploring how food literacy can help bridge the growing disconnect between people, policy and food systems.
Modern food systems have become more efficient, yet increasingly distant. For many people — including policy and decision makers — the realities of food production, farming and food culture are no longer visible or well understood. This disconnect is increasingly recognised as a barrier to progress across health, climate and sustainability agendas.
The roundtable will bring together leaders from research, international organisations, civil society and the food value chain to explore food literacy as a practical and policy-relevant entry point for change. The discussion will focus on understanding where the disconnect with food systems manifests, the role of skills, confidence and culture, and the knowledge gaps that need to be addressed to support more effective policy and societal outcomes.
Can Partnership-Based Policy Cut Agrifood Emissions?
Date: 25 June 2026
Time: 15:00–19:00
Format: Panel discussion and reception, by invitation only.
Organised by the Royal Danish Embassy and co-hosted by FAO, the UN Foundation, Food Nation and the Future Food Institute, this event will explore how partnership-based policy can support the transition towards low-emission agri-food systems.
The programme will bring together perspectives from Kristina Miskowiak Beckvard, Ambassador of Denmark to the United Kingdom, Jan Bay-Smidt, Minister Counsellor for Food, Danish Government, David Laborde, Director of the FAO Agrifood Economics and Policy Division, Cleber Soares, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Brazil, Erik Jørgensen, Chief Consultant at the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, Claus Felby, Vice President, Agriculture and Food at the Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Mette Sivebæk Knudsen, Senior Global Public Affairs Manager at Arla Foods.
Taking Denmark’s green transition and partnership-based approach as a starting point, and drawing on the FAO Global Roadmap for agrifood systems transformation, the event will discuss what it takes to turn climate ambition into practical action.
