Limiting food loss and waste in Bangladesh and across South-East Asia
Did you know that over 800 million people go hungry every day, while nearly 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted annually? That’s enough to feed the world’s hungry population four times over. In Southeast Asia, where the population is projected to grow by 12% by 2035, addressing food waste is not just important – it’s urgent.
The challenge of food waste and food loss is a multifaced issue which requires a global collaborative approach from both the public and private sector. Especially in a world where nearly 1 in 3 people face some level of food insecurity, which includes over 25 pct. of the population in Bangladesh. The global consequences are both lost financial opportunities, continuous food insecurity and a big effect on emissions of greenhouse gasses.
Join us on October 8, 10-11 AM CEST for a powerful webinar on how we can reduce food loss and waste throughout the value-chain in Southeast Asia. Key speakers will address the challenges and possible solutions to food waste and loss as part of the cooperation between Denmark and Bangladesh.
