Danish Official Visit to Australia
Their Majesties The King and Queen of Denmark will undertake an Official Visit to Australia from 16 to 19 March 2026, accompanied by ministers and a delegation of leading Danish companies. The visit will take place in Melbourne, Victoria, and forms part of the strengthened strategic partnership between Denmark and Australia under the theme “Denmark–Australia: Partnering for a Climate Resilient Tomorrow”.
As part of the Official Visit, Danish companies with innovative solutions across agriculture, food, biosolutions and enabling green technologies will join the official business delegation. The visit provides a high-level platform for dialogue and partnership building with Australian decision-makers, industry leaders and key stakeholders across the agri-food ecosystem.
Denmark’s agri-food sector is internationally recognised for its strong cross-disciplinary collaboration and its ability to deliver climate-smart, scalable solutions across the entire food value chain. Danish companies combine advanced technology, data-driven production, biosolutions and a circular mindset to support sustainable productivity, resilience and food security. Close public–private collaboration is a cornerstone of the Danish model and a key driver of innovation and impact.
Australia and Denmark share strong ambitions for sustainable development in agriculture and food systems. Both countries are facing the challenge of producing more food with fewer resources, while reducing emissions and strengthening resilience to climate change. Danish companies bring hands-on experience in transforming these challenges into opportunities, from sustainable primary production and resource efficiency to food processing, nutrition and value-added solutions.
Throughout the visit, the Danish agri-food delegation will explore opportunities for collaboration across the value chain with Australian partners. The programme will highlight how Danish solutions can support climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable food production and the broader green transition, while creating tangible value for both countries.
Programme highlights in Melbourne will include an official Business Day with the participation of HM The King and HM The Queen, ministerial sessions, sector-focused seminars and targeted networking activities. The visit will also feature selected thematic events, including closed roundtables, providing a focused setting for dialogue on innovation, partnerships and pathways from solution to impact within agri-food systems.
The Danish Official Visit to Australia offers a unique opportunity to strengthen Denmark–Australia collaboration and position Danish agri-food companies as trusted, long-term partners in building more sustainable, resilient and future-proof food systems.
