COP30: Accelerating the Green Transition in Food and Agriculture
Denmark will be present at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, contributing to the global dialogue on how to make food systems more sustainable and climate-resilient. Danish organisations and partners will share experiences on how innovation and collaboration between government, business, and science can help accelerate real change in agriculture and food production.
At COP30 – where implementation and adaptation are at the heart of the global agenda — Denmark will take part in a series of collaborative events highlighting how partnerships, innovation, and knowledge sharing can drive more sustainable and resilient food systems. The activities are developed together with national and international partners across research, government, and business.

Date: Wednesday, November 12
Time: 16:45–17:30 (tbc)
Location: Nordic Pavilion, Blue Zone
About the session: Climate change threatens agricultural productivity and biodiversity worldwide. This session presents cutting-edge research from AEGIS – the Ancient Environmental Genomics Initiative for Sustainability, led by Professor Eske Willerslev (University of Copenhagen & University of Cambridge), exploring how ancient DNA can inform the crops of the future. The discussion will connect frontier science with policy, finance, and farmer perspectives, identifying what partnerships and investments are needed to turn knowledge into action.
