Conference: Advancing the green transition of agri-food systems

On 27 April 2026, Denmark will take part in a high-level international initiative at FAO Headquarters in Rome, bringing together policymakers, international organisations and industry stakeholders to advance the green transition of agri-food systems.

Food Nation contributes in collaboration with FAO, the Danish Embassy and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, supporting the promotion of sustainable food systems.

Denmark has been invited based on its internationally recognised approach to sustainable food production and climate action. With ambitious targets of a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050, the Danish model is driven by innovation, new technologies and resource efficiency.

A central element is the Danish Green Tripartite Agreement, which brings together government, industry and research in a shared framework to reduce emissions while maintaining competitiveness.

Through this initiative, Denmark aims to strengthen international dialogue, foster knowledge exchange and build partnerships to accelerate the global green transition.
